Illustrator is a design software where you can take raster images and turn them in to vector images and create 2-D objects than you can take them to a laser cutter or a vinyl and make a decal.Illustrator is used by many professionals but , it can be used by anyone because illustrator is made easy to learn and get a hang of.
Key Chain
Once you have your key chain done print and go to set up then preferences once in that make sure extruded acrylic and you have the right thickness.
Then go to the UCP program and put your martial in the bottom right of the laser and line it up as close as possible than use the focus tool to move your key chain to that point using the to pointer button. Then close the door and hit the big green button to start it.
This is my key chain during the laseing processes it is hard to see but it is lasering.
Vinyl
This is the illustrator file with all your names on it the will will then make into decals.
This is the vinyl were your decals got cut out from. make sure the the stoppers that hold the vinyl is on the blue tape.
Step 1: Take off the vinyl off that you don't need. You should end up will only your letters left.
Step 2: Is taking out the middle of the letters that need it like O, A and others.
Step 3: Apply the transfer tape of the letters and use a squeegee to make sure it is flat. Cut off the tape that you aren't using.
Step 4: Nest take off the back of the vinyl that was holding the letter. When peeling it back make sure the all the letters are staying on the transfer tape.
Step 5: Put the letters and transfer tape on to the bottom of your notebook and in the middle. Again use the squeegee to make sure it is flat.
Step 6: Peel off the transfer tape so just the letters are left. Make sure that the letters stay on when peeling the transfer tape back.
What I learned
I learned hoe to use illustrator and some of it;s uses and 2 machines that go with it the laser and the vinyl cutter. I found out that illustrator is easy to use because I got a hang of it really quick and before this I had never used it before. I also learned about the difference between raster and vector images and decals and stickers.
